Server (Casino) - Part-Time

Job: Casino Servers

Department:  Casino Food and Beverage – Part Time

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for serving Casino guests in a friendly and courteous manner. Servers issue menus and take orders from guests, inform kitchen staff of orders via POS, ensures liquid refreshment levels are maintained as required while adhering to Serving it Right policies, clean and reset tables, respond to guest requests as required and keeps guests satisfied throughout service and issues bill for services rendered and obtains appropriate documentation or cash necessary to ensure payment.

It would be required that you inform a supervisor of complaints and resolve situations speedily and in the best interests of the Resorts reputation. You would also receive store groceries, liquor and supply orders where they belong and in an orderly fashion; keep supplies stocked and clean; engage in light cleaning duties in the restaurant area such as filling and wiping coffee pots, sugar, napkins and holders, straws, drink and hotdog condiment trays etc. You would be required to obtain a basic knowledge of Racebook tracks (Off Track Betting) and teller machines.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have experience providing excellent customer service and recent experience handling and balancing cash or monetary transactions. Preference may be given to candidates who possess serving experience. Must be 19 years of age in order to work in the Casino

Competencies

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude initiative, adaptability and flexibility
  • Has the ability to analyze multiple service requests from guests and organize them in a sequence that makes the most sense in terms of timely service
  • Has knowledge of a computerized POS system
  • Basic mathematical skills with the ability to issue change without the aid of a calculator
  • Good written and oral communication skills with a highly approachable and enthusiastic personality
  • Conflict resolution skills with the ability to deal with guest issues in a professional, courteous and understanding manner even in difficult situations
  • Knowledge of functions and promotions of the St Eugene Golf, Resort & Casino and knowledge of the surrounding area.

Conditions of Employment: Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work late night shifts, weekends, as well as federal and civic holidays. It will also be necessary to apply for receive and maintain a Gaming License from GPEB. Will require or need to obtain a Serving it Right Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

Housekeeping Supervisor - Part-Time

Job:  Housekeeping Supervisor Part-Time

Sunday, Monday, Friday and Saturday’s 3 PM – 7 PM             

Job Purpose

In absence of the Housekeeping Manager this position is responsible for supervising the operations of the housekeeping staff, promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets and to minimize expenses. Daily tasks will include preparing and distribution of work assignments to Housekeepers, House people and Casino cleaners and proactively address any day to day operational concerns and determine appropriate solutions and actions.

In keeping with SEM Housekeeping cleaning standards you would conduct inspections of room and public spaces and complete necessary follow-up such as the re-cleaning of a room or public space. You would make sure that all inter departmental communications take place with confidentiality and in a professional manner. You would also assist with inventory control and ordering, pre shift briefings and monthly meetings to ensure open lines of communication. In acting as a role model for others by displaying professional work habits, work ethics and grooming you would also provide leadership orientation, training, feedback and recognition to all colleagues.

Qualifications

Candidates must have Grade 12 or have an acceptable combination of related experience, education and or training. You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Room attendant or House Person. Experience in a supervisory role would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of housekeeping machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance.

Conditions of Employment: You would need to be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time. You would be required to work a flexible schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must apply for, receive and maintain a Gaming License from Gaming Policy Enforcement Branch, British Columbia. Must be 19 years of age or older in order to work in the Casino. Must have a valid BC class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
